Great thought provoting article. I have a team at work who are required to give feedback to help our safety culture of changing unsafe behaviors to safe behaviors. Also, we are trying this with production to improve production. I am a firm believer and see it everyday....a couple of sayings I have posted by Aubrey Daniels are: "The rate of change of behaviors is directly linked to the number of reinforcers received" and .......behavior is what a person does and a result is what is produced bye the behaviors."

I certainly agree, John! Values are so important in any organization! But really they should be the focus of all of our lives. One of my pet peeves is organizations or people who talk about values or post them on the wall, but don't live them out!

When it comes to values, I am only interested in what I see! Not what I read! Great blog!

It seems there are more companies that do NOT want to fix problems. Try getting someone at Sylvan Pools to even acknowledge that there is a problem. If you perceive a problem, it is always the customer's fault therefore they never have to fix anything. If you live in Central PA, Anthony Sylvan would prefer you not call them! The other interesting customer service was at Leffler Energy. When we switched to another form of heat, we ended our contract with this company. They sent us nasty credit notices for not continuing to pay our budget plan even though we no longer needed their product. Talking to "head of the credit department", it was the customer's fault for not writing a letter and making it explicitly clear that the product would never be needed in the future?!
Where is customer service? Losing business may not be solely due to the economic outlook. It may be a self fulfilling declaration.
